Overlanding

Something that interests me is overlanding. I really got into it this summer traveled all around southern Utah and Arizona. This summer I went on a overlanding trip that took 10 days. The places I stopped were Bryce Canyon National Park, Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Page Arizona, Flagstaff Arizona, Kanab Utah, Zion National Park, and Toquerville Utah.

The friend I went with had a rooftop tent which made camping so much more enjoyable. There is a mattress inside it and there is an extra layer of comfort and security being off the ground.

These pictures were all taken at different stops along my trip. The first was taken in Utah at Toquerville Falls. There is a natural waterfall and beneath it a small pool you can swim in. The second picture was in Page, Arizona which is right at the top of Arizona by Lake Powell. Lastly, the third picture was taken on the way into Bryce Canyon National Park on highway 12.

Overlanding

Is a self-reliant adventure where you travel to remote destinations and the journey is the primary goal. While expedition is defined as a journey with a purpose, overlanding sees the journey as the purpose. Overlanding is about exploration, rather than conquering obstacles.
