I am a graphic design and art history major here at Southern Utah University. I am very passionate about the arts. I love music and would like to produce some one day. I collect art books especially those published by Superani, I really enjoy that Korean style of illustration. I own Kim Jung Gi's Omphalos and his 2016 Sketchbook, and the Volume 1 Sketch Books of Miss Jisu, Hans Olo and Uniquelab. One of my goals is to give a drawing to each of these people (they are sort of mentors to me) and get my book signed by them. I also love film including foreign ones. I'm trying to plan a trip to Cali through the school so I can see some fine art with someone informed like Marvick.
I trained MMA for 2 years and learned some Karate, Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu. I really enjoy it but it has been hard to maintain my health and scholarships. Last year I ran into some illness and broke some toes, this caused me to take a break. I was in a rough spot and kept getting sick and so I chose not to go back immdiately. My focus now is to get under a weight goal before I return. I do oversee the MMA club on campus and help teach some basic classes thursday nights. I want to compete again as I get my health back.
I do a lot of drawing. I started drawing seriously after I started doing graffiti in Italy. I attempted to continue to be involved with street art once I returned to America, but Cedar City really is not the best place for that. Ironacilly, after a few graffiti projects I got caught painting a wall for a design assignment and experienced an unpleasant interaction with the local police. I realized I would have to focus on smaller art after that, and began drawing under the name Soda Hues. My drawings were just barely accepted to the Urban Arts Gallery in Salt Lake City this summer.
One year ago, I started a youtube channel called MOLOCH. When I was in Italy I would make and share absurd videos called the Ragusa Report. I really loved making videos and have wanted to do something like that again. Its mostly let's plays and artbook reviews, but I'm working on some movie and music suggestion videos and some memes/shitposts. It is a long learning process and great challenge for me. I think it has helped a little with my anxiety and especially confidence in front of a camera. Some youtubers I look up to are: Gus and Eddy, NakeyJakey, Corridor Digital/NODE, Gamemakers Toolkit, Jacksepticeye, videogamedunkey, and JonTron.
I love video games and learning about the art and what goes into making a video game. My favorite video game of all time is probably Megaman X for SNES. I've been doing a lot of Rainbow Six Siege lately, you can find me as Floopygoobermofo on PS4
One of my goals this year besides graduating and maintaing my health is to make some friends that are not professors. I work pretty obsessively and have only made a couple of friends at SUU my age and like all of them have graduated.
